Dr Bindu is Professor and Head of the Department Electronics & Communication Engineering at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mysore. Dr Bindu holds a PhD in Electronics (Mysore University), Masters in Industrial Electronics (with Honors) and Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (with Distinction).
Dr Bindu has 22 years of teaching experience and is involved in Guiding research scholars and teaching UG and PG students, and her major area of research include Pattern Recognition, Embedded Systems, Computational Intelligence applications in Robotics and is currently working in the area of MEMS.
Dr Bindu has published over 85 Scopus Indexed and peer reviewed research publications, including 30 International Journals, 40 International conference papers and 15 National Conference papers. Dr Bindu also has edited three text books on Basic Electronics and Logic Design authored by Dr. Sudhakar Samuel.
Dr. Bindu has been instrumental in setting up PCB Design Skill Center and MEMS Center for Excellence at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mysuru Dr Bindu is a member of IEEE, IEI, Life member of ISSS and IETE, Executive member of IETE Mysore center, Life member IACSIT and ACEEE. Recently Dr Bindu was elected as the Fellow of Institution of Engineers [FIE].
Dr Bindu has been the vice-chair of IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity group of IEEE Bangalore section and is the Branch counselor for the IEEE Student branch at VVIET.
Dr Bindu has received several awards and recognition including best paper awards and First prize at a Project competition at IISc.
Dr Bindu has served as chair and reviewer at International conferences, member of board of examiners (VTU) and heads the VTU Research center and guides research scholars.
